This half woman, half fish is made popular by critically acclaimed illustrator Mars Ravelo that was started in comics then swam successfully in to the bit screen until it had shown as TV series as to what Filipinos love of fantaserye.
Now, as ABC-CBN got the right to televise it again, the company makes a grand TV adaption of this classic comics.
Anne Curtis, who is holding as the most Filipino celebrity followed on twitter statistically, is the new Dyesebel which the story started when a merman named Tino, Albert Martinez, found love with a human named Lucia, Dawn Zulueta until she gave birth to a little girl.
But the curse and the Filipino beliefs of what bad luck a mermaid could bring, they tried to kill the child which gave no choice Lucia but to free Dyesebel into the ocean believing that it is better to be underwater rather than on land.
Unknowingly, the real life and disaster for Dyesebel was waiting in the world of mermaids so she decided to go back to the land.
Composing this ambitious fanteserye with powerhouse cast are some of the brightest name in showbiz such as Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Gabby Concepcion, ZsaZsa Padilla and Gina Pareño, Albert, Eula Valdez, AiAi delas Alas and many more.
Surely, this will be a primetime hit when it will air on March 17.
