Life is a constant battle that we need to face it in order to survive. Problems arise to anyone and we try to solve as much as we do. But some remain weak then eventually give up until escaping is hard to do. Our body has self-defense mechanisms in order the whole aspect of human being maintain its equilibrium. But suffers might also have negative effect in terms of appearance - they are aging faster than their counterparts.

Telomeres are part of your chromosomes that protect the DNA when cell division occurs. Telomeres length are decreasing everytime the cell undergo mitosis and this is one of the standards being used by the scientists upon identifying the age or time consume by an organism. What is the correlation of this then with depression and aging? According to research conducted at the Netherlands of about 1,900 people who had major event of depression at some point in their lives, they found out that the size of subjects' telomeres were shorter than their controlled counterparts. They theorized the possibility why it got short because it is the consequence of deterioration in the body's stress system.

The researchers suggested that the best remedy to fight depression thus fighting aging is a healthy lifestyle which include exercise, avoiding vices and diet.
