1. Unity Within The Family
Father and mother have both works and they can provide well with the material needs of each of the family member. Perfect right? Maybe yes but what about the quality time being spent with the kids? Yes, money can sustain the demand but the unity is compromised.
Bible principles to consider:
- “The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much that they have . . . caused themselves a lot of pain.”—1 Timothy 6:10, Contemporary English Version.
- “Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate.”—Proverbs 15:17, Good News Translation.
Unity within the family is priceless and it only comes when adequate time, love and attention are given to your family.
2. Bona Fide Security
Parents always tell their kids to study hard then eventually to marry a successful person in order to have a security for the rest of their life. In this way, the parents might become worry-free, but can this balanced approach lead to financial security?
Bible principles to consider:
- “Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal.”—Matthew 6:19.
- “You do not know what your life will be tomorrow.”—James 4:14.
Money can be stolen and it cannot cure deadly disease nor stop death, but there is a better way to real security than gathering money - that is, knowing God and his purpose.
3. Personal Fulfillment
Living with the basic necessities provides peaceful mind and sound asleep at night. It makes you stress-free without thinking on how to keep your liabilities away from getting lost.
Bible principles to consider:
- “Having sustenance and covering, we shall be content with these things.”—1 Timothy 6:8.
- “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.”—Matthew 5:3.
The greatest satisfaction in life is that knowing the fact that life exists and we know our very own purpose in life.
