LloydsPharmacy conducted a survey about how joint pain sufferers able to manage discomfort when listening to music. It turned out that four in ten people reported that when tuning in, or even humming along, to their favorite songs the pain diminished with significant efficiency. 21% of the patient admitted that Pop music was their potent dose to alleviate pain, followed by 17% chose classical songs and the rest elected rock or indie melody.
To be more specific, Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel topped the most effective song. Secondly, Angels by Robbie Williams then Albatross by Fleetwood Mac. LloydsPharmacy applied this finding to chosen store across United Kingdom which included Selfridges, in Oxford Street, central London; Jubilee Crescent, Coventry; Barton Hill Road, Torquay; and Fallowfield, Manchester. Younger population, about 66%, had the biggest effect of music in term of pain management.
As they say that pain is all in the mind, then people should find some movement that they can entirely join with, hence forgetting the attention giving to the pain. Listening to beloved musics is magnificent for that because it associates with feelings and thoughts thus diverting you from pain.
